コンピューターが苦手な中学２年生・春日結(ユイ)が、「コムネット」と呼ばれるコンピューター網で「コレクター・ユイ」として任務を果たす日々を描いたストーリー。

●あらすじ
西暦20XX年。世界は「コムネット」と呼ばれるコンピューター網でひとつに結ばれ、あらゆることがバーチャル空間の中で出来るようになっていた。このコムネットは「グロッサー」という、巨大なホストコンピューターによって管理されていたが、ある日、グロッサーは現実世界の人間たちをも管理して、世界を支配しようという野望を持ち始めた。
コムネットの開発者である犬養博士はグロッサーを阻止するため制御プログラム「コレクター」を完成させるが、直後にグロッサーに襲われる。博士はコレクターを８つのソフトに分解し、コムネットの中に放出した。
コンピューターが苦手な中学２年生・春日結（ユイ）は、ふとしたことからそのソフトのひとつ「IR（アイアール）」と出会う。IRから任務を託されたユイは、「コレクター・ユイ」として、バーチャル空間に散った８つのソフトを集める旅に出ることになった。

●あらすじ
コレクター・ユイとコレクターズの活躍によりホストコンピューター「グロッサー」の人類支配の野望は阻止された。ユイは一人で変身できる改良型のコムコンを犬養博士に作ってもらうが、何者かに盗まれてしまう。
平和が戻ったコムネットだったが、今度は「バグルス」という正体不明のウイルスがコムネット内の各所に出現して大騒動を巻き起こす。初めての敵に苦戦するユイたちの前に「アイ」と名乗るもうひとりのコレクターが現れた。
ユイたちは、バグルスがネット内で「迷子の少女」が目撃されたときに発生すると気づく。バグルスはなぜ発生するのか、そしてユイたちと同じくバグルスを追うコレクター・アイの目的は何なのか。ユイは隣に引っ越してきた篠崎愛がアイではないかと疑う。
