[10 Episodes Included] The
year is 2029.In a near-future Japan where corporate networks blanket the stars and electrons and light race through the land, yet the nation and its people have not yet been so thoroughly digitized as to vanish. Motoko Kusanagi, a cyborg with a fully cybernetic body, while commanding an elite unit led by Batou, hoped to establish a special task force dedicated to preventing crime before it occurs.Daisuke Aramaki of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who had been planning to establish a similar unit, recruited Kusanagi and her team. They began operations as Public Security Section 9—the “Ghost in the Shell”—a proactive law enforcement organization. As they confront cybercrime—a realm swirling with international intrigue—the existence of an unidentified hacker known as the “Puppet Master” emerges during the investigation of a certain case. What fate awaits Motoko? And what is the Puppet Master’s true purpose? A new era of cyberpunk action begins—!!

■Episode 07: “BYE BYE CLAY” A robot escapes from MegaTech Body
. Although it is apprehended by Public Security Section 9, a Puppet Master is found inside the robot. Master’s mind, Kusanagi awakens. unknown party, the incident is reported by the media, and Kusanagi is charged with the murder of the terrorist.Suspecting that the Gorantor Intelligence Agency is pulling the strings behind the scenes, Kusanagi conducts his own investigation, but he is eventually brought to trial.
■Episode 10 (Final Episode) “BRAIN DRAIN iii + GHOST COAST + EPILOGUE” After being shot
and losing his cybernetic body, Kusanagi flees with Batou, now existing as nothing but a brain. He visits Batou’s bed to obtain a new cyberbody, but there, as Kusanagi enters shutdown mode, the Puppet Master—who was supposed to have vanished—begins a broadcast.
