■ The Heisei Era Late-Period Ultraman Series HD Remaster Project! The Third Installment Following “Ultraman Max”
and “Ultraman Mebius” This title is the third installment of the “Late Heisei Era Ultraman Series HD Remaster Project,” announced at “TSUBURAYA CONVENTION 2025,” a major event for Ultraman series fans held on September 13 of last year.We are working to enhance the image quality by optimizing the “Ultraman Nexus” series—which is based on video master tapes—for HD, allowing viewers to enjoy it with a more natural high-resolution look.As a series that incorporated digital production into its special effects, this work makes extensive use of CGI (computer-generated imagery) shots and features elements not found in typical television dramas of the same era.Consequently, when applying standard upscaling to the original SD-resolution footage—typically found on DVDs—the result often looks unnatural, compromising the realism of the special effects, or tends to produce undesirable elements such as noise.Tsuburaya Productions has achieved a natural high-resolution look that stands up to today’s home viewing environments by conducting repeated quality checks on the remastered versions, aiming for an optimal viewing experience that stays true to the director’s intent.
