伝説の半神マウイがユーモラスに変身に失敗してしまったあの瞬間が、大人気の「サメマウイ」姿でお茶目に登場！変身失敗後のクラシックな姿を完璧に再現しており、丸みを帯びたフォルムのサメに、どこか諦めたようなジト目の表情が絶妙なギャップ萌えを生み出し、思わずクスッと笑わせてくれます。
ボディにはマウイの象徴である部族のタトゥーが細かく刻まれており、草のスカートと小さな胸ヒレが、「マウイ」と「サメ」の2つの特徴を見事に融合させています。背景には巨大な岩と苔の質感で島の雰囲気を醸し出し、南太平洋の島々の自然景観を丁寧に再現しました。
