呪われた甲冑を纏うガッツ。真の姿を現すグルンベルド。漫画『ベルセルク』27巻の死闘が、アルティメットジオラママスターラインにて立体化。
見開きで描かれた対峙の瞬間に着想を得て、その全景をイマジネイティブに製作したジオラマです。ふたりが登場する1コマ1コマを幾度と無く読み込み、サイズバランス、ポージング、レイアウトを決定。全幅80cmを超えるボリュームで、一線を越えた者同士の緊迫感を表現しました。
グルンベルドの巨体は無骨な体表のテクスチャーと、赤い水晶を思わせるクリアパーツで構成。堅牢にして高熱なイメージを裏切らない出来栄えです。一方のガッツも精巧に作り上げました。たなびくマント、血塗られたドラゴンころし、両目に宿る光の違いまで再現した狂戦士の甲冑。サイズからは想像できない高精細さです。
また円形に切り取った霊樹の森は主題のひとつ。切り倒された使徒、動くことのないゴーレム。物言わぬ者たちが、凄惨な戦いを雄弁に物語ります。
そして造形と彩色に並ぶ本作の表現手法が、内蔵したLEDユニットです。「炎の巨竜」の異名通りに輝くグルンベルド。平穏な森を焼き尽くす火の手。漫画の臨場感がディスプレイに宿ります。
