メガドライブ専用ソフト「重装機兵レイノス」は2Dサイドビューのアクション・シューティングゲームとして1990年に発売されました。
自機である「レイノス」を操作するアクション性と複数の武器を取得・選択しながらステージを攻略していく戦略性を兼ね備え、また、 ゲーム中にパイロットなど登場人物の会話が挿入されることによるストーリー性も高く評価されました。
発売中商品「AS-5E3レイノス(主人公機)」のバリエーションタイプとして、ゲーム中にプレイヤー機の味方機として多数登場した 量産タイプの機体を商品化。
茶系のカラーリングを成型色にて再現、更に付属武装として 「ディフェンス・ディスチャージャー」「150mmバズーカ」「ミサイルランチャー」の3種を用意しました。
※(主人公機)付属の12.7mmガトリングガンは付属致しません。
※2011年9月発売商品のパッケージや素材を一新した「リニューアルVer.」での再生産となります。
