画業生活の中で約3万点以上の作品を残してきたと言われている葛飾北斎作品の構図や色使いは、現代においてもどれも斬新なものばかりで、テイストや画風のジャンルは無限大にあり世界の多くの人に語りかけております。
今回、イラストレーターであるiXima氏が葛飾北斎の作品で互いを引き立て合うかのような初音ミクを描いており、葛飾北斎の長い歴史と絵への情熱、初音ミクの常に新しさを発信している革新性が融合した特別なコラボレーション。

キャラクターイラストを描く上で、線画の存在と物体や空間を平面に落とし込むことは自分にとって最も意識している要素であり、それらのルーツにして一つの完成形が浮世絵であると感じています。
多大な影響を受けた偉大な作品群及び文化とコラボレーション作品を発表できる機会をいただけてとても光栄です。 北斎の絵には「神奈川沖浪裏」の波であったり「東海道品川御殿山ノ不二」の桜であったりと、一枚一枚に要素だけでその絵と解るようなアイコニックな表現があります。これらと、色々なものと融合して様々な姿に変容できる「初音ミク」との相性がとてもよく、非常に楽しく描かせていただきました。この絵が見る人にとって北斎とミクそれぞれの世界を知るきっかけになれればうれしいです。
