A unique mecha world incorporating images of Japan, brought to life by an international concept artist.
“TANKHEAD” is an original mecha universe created by concept artist Emerson Tung, who has worked on numerous titles such as “DOOM,” “Quake,” “Transformers,” and “Warhammer 40,000.”Set against the backdrop of the “Neverwar”—a global conflict raging on the
planet Arde—the series depicts three major factions with distinct cultures and the diverse “TANKHEAD” mechs deployed on the battlefield.
Among them, the “Yamaiichi Dominion” is a faction designed with a strong emphasis on Japanese culture and aesthetics. From the unique perspective of
international artist Emerson Tung, living creatures, weapons, and cultural motifs are reimagined into distinctive military designs.
The TYPE 33 HEIKEGANI is a large, six-legged TANKHEAD that symbolizes the Yamaiichi.
Emerson Tung has incorporated the “crab” imagery suggested by its name into a design reminiscent of Japanese warriors and armor, expressing it as his own unique mechanical design. With a
low profile and hexapod structure, it is equipped with a 120mm main gun, missiles, and a rotating autocannon. This is a vehicle unique to Yamaiichi, fusing the image of “Japan” as seen from abroad with realistic weaponry design.
The TYPE 33 HEIKEGANI debuts as the first release in the TANKHEAD series!
