「ジャンボマジンガーZ」は、昭和48年に株式会社ポピー(現在は(株)バンダイに吸収合併)より発売された「ジャンボマシンダー マジンガーZ」の販売促進用に店頭用ディスプレイとして作られた物で、一般販売されていない物で、その現存する実物は非常に少なく、 現在では超貴重な存在です。
また当時、テレビマガジン(講談社刊行)昭和48年12月号の誌面に於いて募集された「機械獣人気コンテスト」の懸賞景品として永井豪先生のその腕に抱かれた巨大なマジンガーZは、世界中のファンの間では大変有名で、常にTOYコレクターの憧れの逸品でした。
それから48年間という長い年月を経た現代に、遂に世界中のマジンガーファンの手元に届けるという、ファン垂涎のプロジェクト！
フォルムに関しては、背面の手掘り文字など、味のある昭和おもちゃ造形の温かみが消えない様に、特に注意を払いながら再現いたしました。
当時のテレビマガジン誌面の写真の様に、旗の棒を刺す穴が無い当時の懸賞景品モデルを再現。
特別付属品として、昭和48年度テレビマガジン掲載写真を使用した永井豪先生サインシート(サインは印刷)が付属します。
