and composer Marashi’s original piano solo album
*Piano monkeys*, released in November 2024, is set to be released on vinyl. It is scheduled for release this summer as a limited edition.
This marks her fifth original piano solo album, coming approximately four years after her previous work, *Shinonome* (2020).
All tracks are live recordings on a full-size concert grand piano, featuring piano solo arrangements
primarily of Vocaloid songs, TV and radio themes, and commercial jingles released between 2020 and 2024.
The tracklist includes "New Humans," which took first place in the "Vocacole 2023 Spring TOP 100 Ranking"
hosted by Niconico Video; "88☆彡," a song written specifically for the smartphone game "Project Sekai Colorful Stage!feat. Hatsune Miku,"
and "Mugen no Ticket," a track from
"Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project VOLTAGE 18 Types/Songs."
It also includes songs closely tied to the media, such as "Hometown," the ending theme for Tokai TV’s "Ogiyahagi Terrace"; "cutover," the TV commercial for TerraSky Inc.; and "Fly day," the theme song for Tokai
Radio’s "Creators," offering a comprehensive overview of Marashi’s expanding activities
.
All 17 tracks are performed on grand piano by Marashi herself. A major feature of this album is that it captures every nuance of the “live sound”—from delicate
touches to dynamic expressions—
including the atmosphere of the performance. For Marashi, who primarily
focuses on video uploads and streaming—
boasting a total of 900 million views and 2.05 million YouTube subscribers—
the release of this album on vinyl represents a new challenge.Presented by a
“digital native pianist” as an “experience of owning sound
,” this album is poised
to offer listeners a new way of engaging with music.
