特殊機関「研究特区」の薬学の頂点に君臨する主席研究員・玉森。
その玉森の“助手兼愛人”と称して彼の重要な「実験サンプル」として生きることになった陽介だったが、玉森に愛人として本気で気に入られてしまう。
それは玉森を盲目的に崇拝する遺伝子学主席研究員・東間と「玉森を好きにならない」という約束を交わした陽介にとって命取りとなるものだった。
玉森が自分に向ける気持ちが本物であることを確信し、正式に玉森の恋人となった陽介だが、東間にも情があり、あくまで玉森との関係を“薬学以外の研究員に向けたブランディング”と東間に説明をつけ、玉森と東間それぞれとの関係をうまく維持していこうとする。
