傑作造形作品をプラキットでお届けするシリーズ「ARTPLA SCULPTURE WORKS」に新規造形のゴジラがラインナップ！
原型を手掛けるのは自然史/生物造形の第一人者、松村しのぶ。
1954年公開の『ゴジラ』の宣材用スチール写真を立脚点としながら、70年に渡る様々なゴジラのエッセンスを再構築・再創造。スーツやCGの再現でなく、太古の巨大生物が東京に現れた姿を立体で描き出します。
台座となる足元の崩壊した日劇ビルや国鉄高架線と、電車を咥えわしづかみにするポーズが臨場感を引き立てます。
松村入魂の造形作品を固定ポーズのプラキットとして計8枚のランナーに凝縮。有機的でいて複雑な体表ディテールを、原型から余すことなく再現しています。
複雑な分割ながらも、既発売のシリーズで採用してきた、ベースとなるボディに体表のパーツを張り付けていく構造により、頑丈さも確保しています。この方式で課題となるパーツの合いも高い精度で成形され、かつ分割線が目立たない構成となっています。
組み立てそのものが楽しめ、完成すれば無塗装の素組み状態でもディスプレイに耐えるオーナメントとなります。もちろん塗装を施す場合も超巨大生物ゴジラと、崩壊した構造物の組み合わせが塗装のイマジネーションを膨らませることでしょう。

ゴジラ（1954）の体色はその後の多くのゴジラの黒系とは異なり、映画ポスターのイメージのような茶系やグレー系で表現されることが多いですが、今回は燃える街に似合いそうな赤茶系を選んでいます。ベース部分の有楽町駅近辺は日劇を除けば今も割と当時の雰囲気を残しているので、そのイメージで塗っています。
