Its greatest feature is its superior drainage and environmental resistance, designed with island defense in mind.The body combines aluminum alloy and reinforced resin for both strength and lightness. It features a lightweight handguard and a stock adjustable to fit the user's physique and equipment. Ambidextrous operation is fully implemented, allowing use from either side, embodying the high standards demanded of modern firearms. Notably, despite having a shorter barrel than the Type 89, it achieves equal or superior accuracy.This kit was developed with permission from Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd., based on research conducted at the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Weapons School.
